Russia’s special military action in Ukraine has been the most talked about international event of the past year. Its effects will be visible in the world for a long time to come. Now the eyes of the world are on to see what turn this war will take in the new year. At the moment, Ukraine seems to be in big trouble. There are reports that since Russia moved the war into the electronic realm, Ukraine’s problems have only increased. Russia is reportedly succeeding in neutralizing Ukraine’s drones and possibly artillery by resorting to electronic warfare. This recent turning point in the war is based on analyzes published in Western publications. According to them, Russia has neutralized most of Ukraine’s drones with its Electronic Warfare (EW) capability. Thousands of drones were given by his allies after the start of the war in February this year. But so far about 90 percent of those drones have been shot down by Russia or have crashed themselves.
Analysts believe Russia’s EW has eroded Ukraine’s intelligence lead. It was thanks to its intelligence capabilities that Ukraine was able to inflict heavy losses on Russia with its artillery in the first days of the war. Thanks to these capabilities, Ukraine was able to thwart the Russian attack on the capital Kiev. In February and March, Ukrainian artillery fired indiscriminately, thwarting the Russian offensive on Kiev. But now, with the help of EW, Russia has disabled Ukraine’s drones, preventing Ukraine’s military from accessing intelligence on Russian military deployments. This prevents Ukraine from using its artillery effectively. Russia has significantly increased its electronic warfare capabilities in recent months. Thus, it is estimated that electronic warfare has changed the course of the war in Ukraine.
