The people of north and northwestern India including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, who are feeling cold due to the severe cold, are expected to get some relief from January 19. The icy winds coming from the mountains cause severe cold in these areas. Safdarjung in Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius, while Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 6.0 degrees Celsius as of 5:30 a.m. today, IMD said.
In contrast, Safdarjung recorded a temperature of 2.4 degrees Celsius at 8:30 am on Tuesday and Palam 4.8 degrees. With the rising sun, the weather has become very pleasant.
In northern India, many trains were delayed due to fog. People were seen waiting for trains at New Delhi railway station. A passenger said, I came from Bihar and my train arrived here two hours late.
