The pre-trial detention of Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha murder case, has been extended by four days. The court ordered his physical appearance on January 10. The case was heard by the Saket Court of Delhi.

Earlier on Wednesday, there was a new revelation in the case. Shraddha’s mitochondrial DNA report has confirmed a match between Shraddha’s hair and bone samples. It was sent to Hyderabad for examination. This was confirmed by Dr. Sagarpreet Hooda, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order Zone-II) of Delhi Police.

Special Commissioner of Police Dr. Sagarpreet Hooda said Delhi Police has received the report from Hyderabad DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics Centre. Now Delhi Police will send Shraddha’s bones for post-mortem examination. DNA testing was also done last month. In this, the bones found in the forests of Delhi were compared to those of Shraddha’s father. Even then the DNA matched.
