Expansion
The Intelligence Fusion Strategic Operations (IFSO) of the special cell of the Delhi Police has proved to be a boon to the people of the country. Due to this, the police rescued Rs 163.84 crore from the people. This amount has been defrauded by the accused of financial fraud. Because of the timely information provided by the victims to the Citizen Financial Fraud Portal Helpline (1930), the police blocked the amount in the banks before it reached the bank accounts of the fraudsters. Now this helpline-1930 which is becoming useful for people in general is expanding to all states, banks and digital platforms.
Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (Citizen Financial Fraud Portal Helpline (1930)) was developed by four ICs of Delhi Police to integrate law enforcement agencies and banks and financial intermediaries. This helpline was launched on April 1, 2021. Police across the country and all banks in the country were connected to this portal.
IFSO DCP Prashant Gautam said that given the success of the portal, it will be expanded. First, the helpline is operational in 28 states and union territories. Rollouts to other states are underway for pan-national coverage to stop the flow of money from fraudsters. Not only this, all the country’s banks, UPI and digital voting etc are also linked to this helpline. Banks and digital channels are also approached. He said that the lines of the helpline are being expanded. The currently running four lines are increased to 12.
