More than one Lakh people will be affected by a Supreme Court order

Following the Supreme Court’s order to free the Yamuna River floodplain from encroachment, the sword of demolition hangs on about 25,000 slums. More than a lakh people live in these slums. The police and DDA will also have to make great efforts to clear the slums on both banks of Yamuna between Timarpur and Okhla.
