The chances of action against the members who have caused unrest, sabotage and assault in the MCD House have increased. Actually Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has become active in this matter. After receiving the report from the MCD, he summoned the Presiding Officer Satya Sharma to brief on the developments.
As a result, it is expected that action will be taken against the members involved in the fuss, sabotage and abuse in the House of Representatives. Otherwise, the Lieutenant Governor would have set the date for the Chamber’s meeting, as the MCD has requested that he only set the date for the Chamber’s meeting. Apart from this, the Presiding Officer has not yet written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor for action against any member.
According to sources, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena himself convened Presiding Officer Satya Sharma for a meeting. It is said that the Lieutenant Governor will take point-by-point information from him on developments in the House, as the Lieutenant Governor had appointed him to swear the newly elected and nominated councilors and to preside over the election of the councillors. Mayor in the meeting of the House of Representatives on January 6.
For this reason, the information provided by him is of the utmost importance and the Lieutenant Governor will take further action after consultation with him. In fact, as soon as the oath-taking process began, there was an uproar in the assembly, and neither the councilors could be sworn in nor the mayor elected to the assembly of the house.
According to sources, the Presiding Officer had informed the Lieutenant Governor of the commotion in the MCD House meeting and at his direction, the Presiding Officer adjourned the meeting to the following date. After January 6, however, he did not contact the Lieutenant Governor in any way. Apart from this, he has so far given some written account of riots, sabotage and fighting in the Chamber.
The series of accusations continues
On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party and BJP have launched a campaign to provoke allegations and counter-accusations against each other regarding commotion, vandalism and fighting at the MCD House meeting. Their leaders take to the streets accusing each other of violating the constitution. Apart from that, while the Lieutenant Governor is held responsible for this matter, the AAP leaders accuse him of not following the rules. At the same time, BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has written to the Lieutenant Governor demanding that the AAP MLAs be suspended and held accountable for developments in the House.
MCD had sent the report to LG
On the other hand, the MCD had sent the report of the meeting of the Chamber to the Lieutenant Governor two days ago. Instead of demanding action on riots, vandalism and fights in the House of Representatives, the MCD has only asked for the date of the meeting. However, the MCD has provided point-by-point details of the incident. For that reason, the Lieutenant Governor summoned the presiding officer to discuss the whole matter.
