Passengers no longer have to worry about traveling in buses. Which bus goes on which route, where to change and a lot of important information related to passengers including the nearest metro station, hospital, bus stop, train station are easily available. Route maps will even be installed at Delhi’s 2000 Bus Queue Shelters (BQS) with state-of-the-art facilities in partnership with Delhi Metro. Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot on Wednesday inaugurated the state-of-the-art bus route navigation map installed at the bus stop at ITO. Rs 27 crore will be spent on the scheme.
The transport minister said passengers often get confused about which bus goes where. The problem becomes even greater if it is necessary to change buses during the journey. With the new route map installed in the BQS, a lot of information, including the route and destination of the buses, is available to passengers. Route maps are installed in Hindi and English for easy reading by all passengers. This is another important step towards making Delhi’s public transport system more convenient with e-buses.
The Government of Delhi is working with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to post large-scale route maps at the BQS. Route cards are mounted in 4 ft wide and 8 ft high BQS stainless steel frames. Metro will realize this project in six months. This includes the maintenance of the new roadmap for 3 years.
Information about buses on the train station and airport lines
The Government of Delhi is also working to implement the passenger information system (PIS) at the BQS, which will be placed on the lines of railway stations or airports. With the implementation of PIS, it will be known on which route and in how much time the bus will arrive.

This makes the journey more accessible and saves you time by giving you the option to travel in a suitable bus. Seamless intermodal travel: The map also includes information about nearby metro stations. Passengers will not experience any problem when changing means of transport. Information on public places, ISBTs on bus routes, hospitals and train stations will also be included. This map will be very helpful for people who come from other cities in Delhi.
