Expansion
Gangsters imprisoned in Tihar jail can now be sent to prisons in other states. In this regard, a proposal has been sent to the Government of Delhi on behalf of the prison administration. According to prison sources, citing security in the proposal, it would move the gangsters to other security prisons in the country. It has been said that the criminals housed in Tihar prison should be transferred to other security prisons in the country. The prison administration is currently officially abstaining from anything in this regard. Currently, there are more than 10 gangsters in Tihar Prison and more than 100 of their associates are also being held there.
After the murder of gangsters Tillu Tajpuria and Prince Tewatia, questions have been raised about the security system of Tihar Prison. The prison administration’s proposal says the prisoner transfer law should be changed to allow criminals to be transferred from one state’s prison to another state’s prison. Currently, the rule is that permission from the state government is needed to move prisoners to another state. No statement has been issued by the prison officials in this case. Agents avoid making formal statements.
