The CBI’s grip on the Aam Aadmi Party government continues to tighten. The Feedback Unit (FBU), established by the Government of Delhi in 2015 following Delhi’s new excise tax policy, has recommended that an FIR be registered against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia following a preliminary investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI ).

At the same time, Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena has sent the CBI’s request for action on this matter to the President through the Interior Ministry. The CBI investigation found that the FBU was set up for allegedly collecting political intelligence information.

Sanctions have been sought to prosecute Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and six other members of the FBU under the political intelligence gathering report. According to sources, permission has been given to prosecute Prime Minister’s adviser Gopal Mohan, while the file has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs to prosecute five people, including Sisedia.
