The meeting of the Academic Council will be held at Delhi University on Wednesday. During this meeting, there will be discussion about the approval of the third semester syllabus of the UG-PG and its eligibility for admission to the PG. In addition, BA Honors Psychology from the Campus of Open Learning and the rates set for this are held in the meeting to be passed on. Apart from this, some other skills courses started for all students of DU will also be stamped. It may be known that the academic council has so far only approved the syllabus of the first and second semester.
Teacher organizations have even protested against the passing of the syllabus of different semesters. Organizations say that students should know at once what they have to study next semester. This time (2023-24) postgraduate (PG) admissions in DU should be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) like UG (undergraduate). In such a situation, eligibility for admission to postgraduate level will be considered at the meeting. There will be no change to the programme-based eligibility of UG courses for admission under 2023-24. It will be the same as last year.
Admission to postgraduate programs is based on the CUET score. It is mandatory for the students to access PG programs from DU in order to take the CUET exam. There are two categories under program-based eligibility. In the first category, there will be students who have obtained a diploma or postgraduate degree from another university, while in the second category, there will be students who have obtained an honors degree or a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi. There will be fifty-fifty percent seating in both categories. Admission to PG programs from DU’s Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) will also be based on the CUET score. While admission into School of Open Learning PG programs is merit based based on the recommendations of the Distance Education Board.
