VK Saxena, Lieutenant Governor Delhi
Expansion
To boost the hospitality industry, Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has simplified the process of obtaining permits for restaurants, lodging and guest houses. On Tuesday, he launched the revised integrated portal. With the introduction of a single counter, the service for obtaining permits for hospitality entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and startups has been made faceless (online).
Delhi Police, MCD, NDMC, Delhi Fire Service and Delhi Pollution Control Committee licenses can now be taken or renewed through this portal. All agencies must issue a permit after 49 days. In case of delay, the permit is automatically issued in the name of the applicant. This initiative will also boost the night economy. Due to this, leading services will be available in Delhi in the field of home and abroad.
The Lieutenant Governor said that this step will lead to reform, simplification in a regulation. Entrepreneurs ran into problems due to harsh conditions for the catering industry. Initiatives have been taken in this direction by making progress based on the prime minister’s ease of doing business. Simple licensing standards will both boost the hospitality industry and improve the overnight economy.
In view of the shortcomings of the existing licensing system and the convenience of the entrepreneurs and citizens, a high-level committee was established under the Chief Secretary (Home). The LG said the committee was able to complete its work in record time. As a result, a unified portal has been launched.
Food is also served late into the night at the rooftop restaurants
Delhi’s eateries and restaurants, clubs run by the DDA, have carried out encouraging experiments such as extending opening hours. Likewise, with al fresco and terraces facilitating open-air dining, visitors to NCR cities will now also be served late at night at these Delhi establishments. The entire licensing and renewal process has been made completely online and anonymous in the revised portal. Now you can apply for your license or its renewal by submitting a very short, simple and general application form (CAF) on the portal. This CAF will apply to all 05 licensing agencies. This includes Delhi Police, MCD, NDMC, DPCC and Delhi Fire Brigade.
Fewer documents are required for the form
Only 24 documents need to be uploaded for new CAF. Previously, 52 documents had to be submitted with the form, which has now been simplified. Now only one commitment for five agencies needs to be submitted. Reducing the number of documents required for license renewal will also make it easier to obtain a license. The period of validity of the permit or Declaration of No Objection (NOC) has been increased to 3 years for all authorities. Previously, the validity was one to five years for different agencies. For this, an applicant had to walk here and there for renewal.
