The Delhi Police had extensive security arrangements in place

New Delhi. Wrestlers on strike in Jantar Mantar performed a candle march from Jantar Mantar to India Gate on Tuesday after a month’s completion. In view of this, the Delhi Police had taken extensive security measures. Paramilitaries were deployed in addition to police officers. In addition, traffic police personnel were also deployed along the entire route to keep the traffic system running smoothly, but during the march there was a long queue of vehicles on many routes of New Delhi.
The Delhi Police have not officially authorized nor denied the candle march in Jantar Mantar. A senior official said about 500 protesters are likely to take part in the march.
In view of what security measures have been taken. Given the risk of traffic congestion due to the candle march at India Gate, traffic personnel have been asked to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the people. A large number of traffic controllers were deployed at India Gate. Officials had also suggested changing the route to keep traffic flowing.
In addition, the Delhi traffic police had already advised people on Twitter to avoid certain routes. Police had advised motorists not to use Mansingh Road and C-Hexagon. Also, those going to ISBT, railway station and airport were advised to leave home before time. The candle march was allowed to move from Jaswant Singh Gol Chakkar to Mansingh Road, Duty Path intersection. During the march, security personnel were seen walking with the demonstrators. During the march, there was a traffic jam on many New Delhi routes. After the end of the march, the traffic police officers were seen smoothing it.
