Social Affairs Minister Raj Kumar Anand on Saturday met the relatives of Dr. Amit Gupta, who lost his life after being infected during his service during the Corona epidemic, at his residence in Pitampura. During this, he handed over a check of one crore rupee to the relatives on behalf of the Delhi government.
After the meeting, the minister said that Dr Amit Gupta got infected with Corona while serving the people at Satyawadi Raja Harishchandra Hospital and lost the battle for life while being treated at the hospital.
He said that while the ex-gratia amount could not make up for the loss to the families, I hope that with this financial aid, the family members would get some help in improving their future and lives. We warmly salute their hard work and spirit in waging the war against the pandemic.
The Kejriwal government has so far given an honorarium of Rs one crore each to the bereaved families of several corona warriors who lost their lives due to corona infection while serving the people during Covid. The minister said the government would help meet some of the needs of the doctor’s family.
