Restrictions imposed under Phase II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR were lifted with immediate effect following a significant improvement in air quality. Officials said all work under Phase I will continue and be duly carried out by all relevant agencies in the National Capital Region. Under Stage 2, along with the use of diesel generators, hotels, restaurants and dhabas are prohibited from burning coal and wood in tandoors.

According to the evening’s AQI bulletin from the Central Pollution Control Board (CBCB), Delhi’s overall air quality index improved from 291 on Feb. 26 to 178 on March 1. According to the forecast of the relevant authorities, the air quality is expected to remain good in the coming days. In view of this, the GRAP subcommittee has decided to lift all restrictions under Phase II. desk
