If all goes well, Delhi will have a mayor on February 22. Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s proposal has been approved by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Kejriwal wrote a letter to the LG in the morning. In which it was asked to hold elections on February 22, to which the LG agreed. Elections will now be held on February 22 from 11 a.m. for the mayor, deputy mayor and six members of the standing committee in the MCD House. Previously, the court had ordered that the convocation for the first meeting of the company must be made within 24 hours. In the order, the court also said that the mayor must be elected at the corporation’s first meeting. After the election, the deputy mayor is elected under the chairmanship of the mayor and six members of the standing committee.
