Concerned about untreated industrial wastewater in the Yamuna, a meeting to review the status of Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) was recently held under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena. In this, instructions were given to assess the role of CETP in reducing pollution in Yamuna and its full capacity and current gap within 30 days. The Chief Secretary along with officials from 13 CETP-related departments and agencies also attended the meeting.
