Noting the alleged rise in Islamophobia, the prominent Muslim organization Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind demanded a separate law on Friday to specifically punish those who incite violence against minorities. Jamiat’s 34th General Assembly started on Friday at Ramlila Maidan here under the presidency of its chief Maulana Mehmood Madani.

In the general body, the organization passed several resolutions, including the hate campaign and the alleged rise of Islamophobia in the country. The Jamiat claimed that apart from instances of hatred and incitement against the Muslim community, the rise of Islamophobia in our country has risen to an alarming level in recent times. Jamiat said the most regrettable thing is that the government is aware of this development but has taken an ostrich-like approach.
