Guided heritage tour service has started for foreign tourists in Delhi. The excursion also allows tourists to taste the famous cuisine of Delhi-6. Municipal Corporation of Delhi has started Guided Heritage Tour in partnership with Yulu Bikes Company.
In the first phase, a tour of the historical heritage sites of Shahjahanabad would be made. MCD plans to run six more such guided heritage tours of Delhi. In this, historical heritage sites in South Delhi will be visited.
The Corporation has authorized Yulu Bikes to conduct tours of the public bicycle shed under the Public Cycle Sharing and Shared Micro Mobility System policy. The journey to the historic gate of Shahjahanabad was inaugurated on Sunday. Corporation’s Additional Commissioner AA Tajir marked the Virasat Yatra. RK Mishra, Founder, Yulu E-Bike, Naveen Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Keshav Puram Zone and Amit Bhardwaj, Additional Deputy Commissioner, RP SAIL attended the occasion.
New initiative in the run-up to the G-20 summit
Additional Commissioner Amit Bhardwaj said that taking into account the G-20 summit, a guided heritage tour has been started in Delhi. This form of service has existed abroad for a long time. He told that a fee of Rs 700 has been set for this. Tourists are served breakfast before the start of the tour. This heritage tour starts from Kashmere Gate and passes through all 7 gates of Shahjahanabad and ends at Delhi Gate in about three hours.
