Delhi Police ASI Shambhu Dayal, who was seriously injured in a knife attack while trying to apprehend a snatcher in the Mayapuri area, succumbed to his injuries during treatment in the early hours of Sunday. At 4:00 PM on January 4, a woman had complained of jerking on the phone in the Mayapuri area. Shambhu Dayal reached the place as soon as the complaint was received. The woman said that a miscreant snatched her husband’s phone and ran to the slum. The police took the couple to the slums near the Delhi Rewari Railway. Where the woman recognized the suspect.
ASI Shambhu caught the miscreant and started taking him to the police station. Before reaching the police station, the accused Anees suddenly took out the knife he was carrying and started attacking Shambhu.
