From mid-March the weather changes continuously. After the sun rises, the weather turns into evening. This weather change has put a brake on the rising mercury. Due to the effect of Western Disturbance, it has been raining for three days. Due to the sudden turn of the weather, the temperature rose above 33 degrees on Friday to 28 degrees.
It has rained in Delhi for seven days since March 1. For example, 83.2 mm of rain has fallen in all of March so far. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the weather turned again in Delhi-NCR after Friday afternoon. Light to heavy rain fell intermittently in several areas. This rainy period lasted all night.
Ridge is the coldest area
On Friday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was three degrees below normal at 28.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was one degree below normal at 16.8 degrees Celsius. 16.1 mm of rain fell from Thursday to Friday 8:30 am. While 000.1 mm of rain fell until 5:30 PM. The Delhi Ridge recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13.7 °C in the plains of northwestern India. The minimum temperature in Ayanagar and Lodi Road was 16.4 degrees Celsius. Delhi’s Lodi Road area recorded the highest rainfall of 23.0 mm till Friday morning.
March was cooler than the past two years
Compared to the past two years, March this year was a bit cooler. The average maximum temperature in March was 30.9 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 16.2 degrees Celsius. Earlier in 2022 the maximum temperature was 32.9 and the minimum temperature was 17.9 and in 2021 it was 33.1 and the minimum temperature was 16.8 degrees Celsius. The average maximum temperature in 2020 and 2019 was 28.2 °C.
Forecast of light rain for April 1 and 3
According to the Meteorological Service, the temperature will not rise for two days. Partly cloudy. On April 1 and 3, there is again a chance of light rain in some areas. After April 3, the maximum temperature starts to rise. Again the temperature will reach 33 degrees. The maximum temperature on Saturday will be 30 degrees and the minimum temperature 15 degrees.
