Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, has been invited as a speaker at the Harvard University Annual India Conference in the US. Maliwal responded by saying that it is a matter of pride that the Commission’s work is gaining international recognition and that I have been invited to share my views on the role of women in Indian politics on a global platform.
The conference will focus on the theme of ‘Vision 2047 India in 100 years of independence’. The conference is organized on February 11 and 12. The annual India Conference at Harvard University provides a prestigious international platform for policy makers, business leaders, cultural and academic experts to share their work and best practices with the global community. The chair of the Women’s Commission was asked to address the issue of democracy. He said the file was sent to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on January 18 for approval of the trip, which is awaiting approval.
