Patients who come for treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in the capital Delhi can be screened for cancer. For the convenience of the patients, a screening desk has been opened in the OPD building of the hospital. Other necessary tests can also be done here. About 10,000 patients from all over the country visit Safdarjung’s OPD every day. On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a cancer awareness program was organized at Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday. On this occasion, patients who won the battle against cancer shared their experiences. Also tell other patients who came into the program that if you are diagnosed with cancer, don’t be afraid. Its treatment is possible, if you keep yourself strong and get treated, you can get well soon.
Chief Medical Inspector Dr. BL Sherwal said an awareness campaign will run until February 8 to raise awareness of cancer in the hospital. Facilities are being expanded in the hospital for cancer patients. We hope that there will be a large-scale vaccination campaign to prevent cervical cancer in women.
Dr. Kaushal Kalra, Nodal Officer of Medical Oncology at the hospital said that a counter will be opened for screening patients coming to Safdarjung. This screens for other cancers, including breast cancer. If a patient thinks he may have cancer, he can get tested here. Blood pressure, sugar and other general and necessary tests will also be done here during the screening. In addition, patients in the campaign, which runs until February 8, receive information about cancer prevention every morning. Students and staff of the Medical College talk about preventing cancer through a street play. In addition, a walk is also organized to prevent cancer.
Day care for CGHS patients
Dr. Kaushal informed that a day care has been started at the hospital for CGHS patients. Patients can receive chemotherapy by being admitted here.
Canteen for coarse grain opens in AIIMS
A canteen for coarse grains will be started in Delhi AIIMS to provide nutritious food rich in fiber. AIIMS Director Dr. M Srinivas has issued an order in this regard. In the assignment, the director says that it was decided to start a 24×7 canteen in AIIMS. From March 1, this canteen will run in the Central Cafeteria. In it, food products from millet will be fed. Explain that it is beneficial to take whole grains for breakfast in the morning for nutritious foods that contain fiber.
