People living in New and South Delhi may face difficulties in commuting. After Ashram Chowk, Chirag Delhi Flyover, Delhi Cantt Flyover and NH-48, Benito Huarez tunnel will be closed from March 18. Due to this, there is a chance of traffic jams on Dhaulakuan, Ring Road, Moti Bagh, RTR Flyover and Outer Ring Road.

PWD officials said the tunnel leads to St Martin Marg, RTR flyover and airport near Taj Hotel. Traffic turning right here coming from the airport will exit this route through the underpass onto St. Martin’s Road. This underpass also relieves traffic under the Rao Tula Rao flyover. Water is leaking in many places in the tunnel. This causes the water to fill in the tunnel.

For this reason, repair work will start from Saturday. This repair work will take seven days. Delhi traffic police officials say closing the tunnel will allow for smooth traffic arrangements.
