Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the participation of eight children with disabilities from Delhi government schools in the Indian contingent who will take part in the World Scout Jamboree to be held in South Korea from August 1 to 12. An official statement from the LG office said that these eight children with special needs will be supervised by a physical education teacher, a special educator and the deputy director of the education department.
A statement from the LG office said that on January 19, a proposal was sent to the Delhi government by the Bharat Scouts and Guides seeking names of city schools for the national team. The proposal, recommended by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and approved by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was sent to the Lieutenant Governor for approval. Eight children with disabilities were selected from 16 children with disabilities who successfully participated in the 18th National Jamboree held in January in Pali, Rajasthan.
