All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi is set to make changes in the educational training of the final year students pursuing MBBS. AIIMS will create such a system so that students can do their studies better while preparing for postgraduate. In addition, online training will be strengthened to further improve the learning process. AIIMS director Dr. M. Srinivas has issued an order and set up a commission on this.

The director’s order states that an 11-member committee has been formed to improve the pattern of teaching, training, and evaluating final-year MBBS students. It has been found that student attendance at lectures is low. Students spend more time in coaching classes for preparation for the PG entrance exam. The way of teaching and learning has also changed over the years. A greater involvement of online medium and simulation based training has emerged. There is also a need to change the current pattern of education, clinical training and assessment to achieve long-term capacity building and develop a valid model for nationwide implementation. In preparation, the committee will propose the necessary changes to the current form of education.
