A miscreant entered the AC coach and attacked a woman in the GT Express parked at Shivaji Bridge in New Delhi. The suspect hit the victim on the head with an iron bar and looted her golden mangalsutra and fled. The woman was seriously injured in the attack. The woman was treated when the train reached New Delhi railway station. Later, after recording his statement, the police registered a case under sections of robbery and started looking for the suspect. Police are searching for the suspect using CCTV cameras installed nearby. Police say they have some clues in the case. The suspect will be arrested soon.
The 63-year-old victim, N Savitri, lives with her family in Anna Nagar, Chennai. On Tuesday, she came to Delhi in the AC bus of the GT Express train. The train reached Delhi and stopped at Shivaji Bridge. She was brushing her teeth around 6:20 am. Meanwhile, an unknown person got on his bus. Seeing Savitri alone, the accused attacked her with an iron bar.
Savitri was seriously injured in this attack. After this, the suspect broke the mangalsutra from her neck and escaped by jumping from the train. Meanwhile the train started. After some time, the train reached New Delhi railway station. The injured woman first received her treatment by reaching New Railway Central Hospital. Later, after making a statement to the police, the woman filed a report. The woman says that she had come to Delhi with her relative. The police are trying to determine the character of the suspects by interrogating them.
